FICTS to honor late Ali Ansarian

Former Iranian football player and actor Ali Ansarian is slated to be honored at the 2021 edition of the Tehran International FICTS Festival in Iran.

Ansarian was supposed to judge the selected films as the main member of the jury panel of the 12th edition of the event.

The former footballer and actor passed away of COVID-19 on February 3, 2021 at the age of 43.

The actor died following another Iranian ex-footballer and his friend, Mehrdad Minavand, who also lost his life at the age of 45 to coronavirus.

Organized by the cultural institute of the Khayyam Art House NGO, the event is held to stage a contest between filmmakers and producers, spot young talents, and to introduce inspiring figures.

As the exclusive representative of the FICTS Sport Federation, the Tehran International FICTS Festival functions in line with the country’s sporting regulations, the National Olympic and Paralympics Committee and the FICTS Federation.

The closing ceremony of the event is scheduled for March 11, 2021 in Tehran.
